Burkhalter Travel is a locally owned full-service travel agency that provides travel services to businesses, individuals/families (leisure) and groups. We have 8 offices in the Madison and surrounding areas and have been in business for over 60 years. We pride ourselves on providing professional travel advice and outstanding service for all of our customers.

A Group Travel Coordinator provides our valued group customers with professional expertise in planning and booking their domestic or international travel arrangements. Group customers include leisure groups of 20+ people, large corporate and incentive group clients, business association meetings and large group tours. We are seeking a highly motivated person that is dedicated to providing world-class customer service and displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive client contact and maintaining accurate communication with clients is a must. This position is not an order-taker but requires the candidate to actively pursue sales and demonstrate sales acumen by building and maintaining relationships with clients. Additional skills required include excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, proven organization skills, and ability work independently and under sometimes stressful conditions.

This position will be located at our office on the west side of Madison, WI.

We prefer a candidate with previous travel industry experience including GDS proficiency (Sabre preferred), but this is not required to apply. A love for travel is a must - you'll be researching and learning about new destinations we send group clients. Schedule is generally Monday - Friday, with flexibility for right candidate. Occasional night or weekend hours may be requested based on client needs.

Burkhalter Travel is a locally owned full-service travel agency that provides travel services to businesses, individuals/families and groups. We have 8 offices in the Madison and surrounding areas and have been in business for over 60 years. We pride ourselves on providing professional travel advice and outstanding service for all of our customers.

We are seeking a reliable, courteous and professional receptionist. This position covers the front reception desk during business hours at our main office at 6501 Mineral Point Rd, Madison. This is a part-time position (4-5 hours per day Monday - Friday) working mornings or afternoons with the occasional need to fill-in full-day.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promptly and courteously greeting customers
  • Answer the main phone line and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming mail, faxes and email
  • Provide clerical support to colleagues including assembling documents and basic computer entry as requested
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies - ordering when necessary
  • Keep front reception area neat and organized
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prefer candidate with administrative or customer service experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task efficiently (answer phones, greet clients, direct calls)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with clients and coworkers via phone, email or in-person
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle distractions and busy times of the year
  • Proficient with a PC, basic computer skills and Microsoft programs

We have 8 offices in the Madison and surrounding areas and have been in business for over 60 years. We pride ourselves on providing professional travel advice and outstanding service for all of our customers.

A Leisure Travel Consultant provides our valued customers with professional expertise in planning and booking their domestic or international travel arrangements. This position will serve leisure clients. We are seeking a highly motivated person that is dedicated to providing world-class customer service and displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive client contact and maintaining accurate communication with clients is a must. This position is not an order-taker but requires the candidate to actively pursue sales and demonstrate sales acumen by building and maintaining relationships with clients. Additional skills required include excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and to work independently and under sometimes stressful conditions.

This position will be located at one of our eight offices based on candidate qualifications at time of hire and current business need. Hybrid/work from home opportunities available.

We strongly prefer a candidate with previous experience in a travel agency setting including GDS proficiency (Sabre preferred) and experience with ClientBase a plus.
